The Aerophile Racing Team was formed in October, 2000 by Ray Debs and Curtis Weinman, and is based in Campbell, CA.

Curtis and Ray have been flying together since 1988. Ray has a commercial glider and instrument airplane license, and Curtis is working on his private pilot license. They both have experience designing, building, flying and competing with RC gliders, airplanes, jets, helicopters, and sailboats. Together, they have a combined experience in aviation of almost 50 years. In April 2000 we teamed up for T-34 RC air racing. After that successful first season we officially became the Aerophile Racing Team.

Our mission is to be a strong, close air racing team supporting each other in all aspects including moral, and psychological, through training, providing equipment, finding sponsors, and camraderie.

We are looking forward to competing in RC Warbird, RC Giant Scale, full-scale Formula One, full-scale Sports Class, and eventually full-scale Unlimited air racing (we will need serious sponsors for this!). We are a team focused both on flying models and full-scale aircraft. Our decisions and equipment purchases are made with this in mind.

If you are interested in becoming an Aerophile Team Member and have something to offer, along the lines of good piloting, engine or mechanical expertise, or just a high level of enthusiasm, come out and fly with us.
